The member is responsible for : researching and developing a directory of best practices for the investigation of crimes against children on the Internet; developing polices and national investigative standards to provide a consistent approach to investigating crimes against children on the Internet, and guidelines for providing expert witness testimony in court; researching, developing and updating national investigative policies, directives and standards in response to emerging trends, gaps and local issues; analyzing policy issues related to NCECC(National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre) and developing approaches to address them; advising the RCMP(Royal Canadian Mounted Police) and the Canadian law enforcement community at international, federal or provincial meetings, task forces and working groups as a subject-matter expert in investigating crimes against children on the Internet; providing advice, recommendations and policy interpretations to senior management and international and national law enforcement organizations; and supervising and training a junior analyst.
